Egypt & Jordan Adventure Private Tour Itinerary – 12 nights
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 This Tour starts at the Cairo Airport (and ends in Amman) .You will be met at the Cairo airport by our tour representative and driver. You will be met as you enter the terminal and after Immigration. Our representative assists you with your luggage and Customs, then take you to your hotel for the evening. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2 Start with a visit to the Egyptian Museum in the morning. In the afternoon visit the Citadel of Saladin, the Mosque of Mohammed Ali and Coptic Cairo including the Hanging Church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Overnight in Cairo. (B)
Day 3 The entire day will be devoted to antiquities. Memphis, Saqqara, The Pyramids and The Sphinx. You will even ride camels at the Pyramids, if you wish. Overnight in Cairo. (B)
Day 4 You will be awakened early for the early morning flight to Aswan where your full day will start with visits to the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk at the granite quarries and Philae Temple. In the afternoon you will sail the Nile by felucca with views of the Nilometer, Elephantine Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Optionally, you can visit Abu Simbel by air in the morning, and then see the Aswan sites in the afternoon. Abu Simbel, the two magnificent temples of Ramses II…is a magnificent site. You fly to Abu Simbel, take the shuttle bus at the airport for the 5-minute ride to the monuments, hear the lecture from the Egyptologists stationed at the monuments, return by bus to the airport for your return flight to Aswan. About 4 hours in total. Overnight in Aswan. (B)
Day 5 Today starts with a drive by private car or minibus to Luxor with stops at Edfu and Kom Ombo on the way. The late afternoon will be free in Luxor. Overnight in Luxor. (B)
Day 6 Another early morning as you cross the Nile to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings. The full day tour will include the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Ramasseum and an alabaster factory. Overnight in Luxor. (B)
Day 7 A half day visit to Karnak and Luxor Temple and then the afternoon at the Luxor Museum. Optionally, enjoy a Sunrise Balloon Ride over the Valley of the Kings. Later you will be taken to the airport for your return flight to Cairo, where, on arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight. (B)
Day 8 Transfer to the airport for your departure to Amman . You are met at Queen Alia Airport Amman, and assisted on arrival with customs and with Jordanian Visa processing . To Petra for overnight. (B)
Day 9 Breakfast. You have a full day exploring the ancient Nabataean capital, with entry by the Siq and visits to the Khazneh, Theater, Colonnaded Street, Museum and ad-Deir, Petra’s largest carved façade. Overnight Petra (B)
Day 10 Breakfast. Second full day in Petra, with alternate entry by al-Madras “secret road” and visits to High Place of Sacrifice, Wadi Farasa, Great Temple, Byzantine Church and Royal Tombs. Overnight Petra. (B)
Day 11 Breakfast. Tour the Mont Real Crusader Castle in Shobak. Continue north along the scenic King’s Highway, with a stop to enjoy the spectacular scenery at the Dhana Guest House, overlooking Wadi Finan and the Dhana Nature Reserve. Drive through Wadi Hasa to visit the massive Karak Crusader Castle, towering high above the southern end of the Dead Sea. Descend to Wadi Araba, route of the ancient spice caravans, and drive north through the floor of the Great Rift Valley along the eastern shoreline of the Dead Sea, lowest point on the earth’s surface. Arrive early afternoon to your Dead Sea resort for leisure time and overnight with breakfast. (B)
Day 12 Breakfast. Drive up to Mt. Nebo, the site from which it is believed that Moses saw the Promised Land. The contemporary Nebo church displays the restored mosaics from a succession of pilgrimage churches which have occupied this venerated spot. Nearby Madaba, an archbishopric during the Byzantine era, is home to the world’s largest collection of ancient mosaics. See the famous Century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the St. George Church.
Drive to Queen Alia Airport Amman, where your tour concludes.
